| Job Summary/Basic Function |
The Department of Athletics is looking for graduate students to assist in the academic monitoring of our approximately 450 student-athletes. Peer mentors meet with students on a weekly basis to provide academic resources, assist with time management, organization, and study skills. Peer mentors work with the Senior Associate Director of Athletics to assist in helping students maintain progress towards degree and remain in good academic standing.

| Required Qualifications |
Working toward a graduate degree at Millersville University
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Ability to work 5-10 hours per week.
Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism within a professional environment
Highly motivated, adaptable, and willing to take initiative
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a diverse team
Organized, with excellent oral and written communication skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience as a student-athlete preferred.

| Job Duties |
Assist in the academic monitoring of 450 student-athletes
Conduct and coordinate weekly and biweekly academic meetings with student-athletes.
Review early alerts received in reference to the academic performance of students.
Provide academic resources to student-athletes and assist with time management, organization and study skills.
Assist in coordinating/developing academic workshops for student-athletes.
Meet weekly with Senior Associate Director of Athletics to review academic progress of student-athletes and other academic updates.
Coordinate communications with coaches in conjunction with the Associate Director of Athletics
Other duties & projects as assigned by the Senior Associate Director of Athletics
