Description
Job Title: Student Worker – Athletic Training & Sports Medicine
Department: Athletics – Sports Medicine
Position Type: Part-Time | Student Worker
Location: Point University, West Point Campus
Reports To: Head Athletic Trainer / Sports Medicine Staff
Position Summary:
The undergraduate student worker will support the daily operations of the Athletic Training and Sports Medicine Department by assisting athletic trainers and other sports medicine personnel in the care and treatment of student-athletes. This hands-on position provides valuable experience for students interested in pursuing careers in athletic training, physical therapy, sports medicine, or related health sciences.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the setup and breakdown of practice and game-day medical equipment and supplies.
Help with treatment and rehabilitation sessions under supervision (e.g., hot/cold packs, modalities, basic taping).
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the athletic training facilities.
Inventory and restock medical and training supplies as needed.
Document and track daily treatments and athlete participation as directed.
Perform administrative tasks such as filing and logging data.
Other duties as assigned by athletic training staff.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at Point University.
Interest in athletic training, sports medicine, physical therapy, kinesiology, or a related field.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA and FERPA guidelines.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to lift, carry, and transport equipment up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Previous experience working with athletics or in a clinical setting.
Knowledge of basic taping or rehab techniques (training can be provided).
