Reporting to the Assistant Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (
CPS
), the Supervising Counselor, Coordinator for Peer Counseling and Athletics Services provides overall coordination and oversight of CPS’ Peer Counseling Program and the provision of direct clinical support, consultation, and outreach to students and staff in the Athletics program.
Additionally, the position entails the provision of a range of mental health services to the Fordham community, including individual counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, clinical supervision, outreach interventions, and assessments and evaluations.
Provides general oversight, coordination, and administration of the
CPS
Peer Counseling program.
Liaises and collaborates with student organizations, academic departments, and administrative offices to promote
CPS
Peer Counseling program.
Coordinates and oversees outreach, consultation, and clinical services for student-athletes.
Liaises and collaborates with Athletic Department staff, including coaches, trainers, advisors, and administrators, to support and enhance student-athlete mental health and wellness.
Develops and coordinates psychoeducational programs that focus on promoting student-athlete mental health and wellness.
Provides after-hour consultation as needed to the Athletics Department regarding student-athlete mental health crises or emergencies.
Provides direct clinical services, including initial screening assessments, crisis intervention, and individual and group psychotherapy/counseling to a diverse undergraduate and graduate student population.
Provides clinical supervision for social work intern in the Athletics department.
Participates in clinical, multidisciplinary, and administrative team meetings.
Participates in university-wide and student affairs events and programs as assigned.

Advanced degree in a mental health related field (clinical or counseling psychology, social work, mental health counseling) from an accredited program.
Licensed or license-eligible as a mental health provider in New York State.
Minimum two years of experience providing clinical services, outreach, and primary prevention in a university mental health setting.
Experience promoting social justice and working with students from underrepresented and underserved students.
Demonstrated competency in providing clinical services, outreach, and primary prevention
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse university community of students, faculty, administrators, and families.
Commitment to providing multicultural counseling and conceptualizing from a psychodynamic framework.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and training skills
Demonstrated organizational skills and experience multitasking with various projects and competing priorities
Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Office suites
