Position Description
Position Summary
Swim Lessons Instructors are expected to teach swim lessons between the ages of 3 and 17. Swim Lesson dates and times very by the season and types of lessons.
Major Preferred
Experience Required
Previous teaching experience for kids 3 to 17 and knowledge of water safety and swimming technique.
Experience Preferred
Competitive swimming background and/or Water Safety Instructor certification.
Skills, Characteristics Required for Position
Instructors must be patient, willing to do anything to help the kids learn water safety and swim skills, be able to think quickly and improvise, and be respectful in communicating to parents and advisers.
Dress Code Requirements
Modest one-piece swim suit for women, swim trunks for men.
Special Working Conditions
Instructors get in the water with their students for swim lessons and show them how to do different skills.

- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance2. Communicate if there is a conflict with scheduling3. Teach and advance students to swim and understand water safety4. Come prepared for lessons by reviewing content prior to lesson
