Job Summary

This opportunity is intended for highly motivated individuals who are interested in gaining valuable experience in the Collegiate Sports Dietetics profession. As a valuable performance nutrition team member, this position will help execute day to day operations of various teams. This position will primarily work with Football, and other designated Olympic sports teams assigned by the Georgia Tech Performance Nutrition team. This is a temporary position beginning approximately January 2024 and ending approximately in May 2024.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Perform duties related to professional field assignment.

Job Duty 2 -
Participate in reviews for compliance with policy and governmental regulations in the field.

Job Duty 3 -
Provide input to department policies and procedures.

Job Duty 4 -
May provide input to and administer project timelines and budgets.

Job Duty 5 -
May interact with vendors regarding procurement and delivery issues.

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist designated sports under GT Performance Nutrition supervision
• Assist in developing assigned team nutrition protocols
• Provide team nutrition education to teams as needed
• Complete body composition assessments and interpretations
• Assist team dietitians in the planning and logistics of travel and competition fueling
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary performance team for assigned teams
• Assist in menu selections, provide plate coaching at Edge dining hall
• Consult with team(s) pre, during, and post practice/game fueling at home
• Lead management of fueling station, including product management (receiving, storing, and inventory)
• Create educational materials (team talks, flyers, social media,etc.)
• Assist in management of student work force
• Provide individual meal planning and monitoring
• Perform other duties/tasks as assigned by the GT Performance Dietitian(s)

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Position requires the ability to pass a drug/alcohol pre-screening; may require working competently with dangerous materials and in a dangerous environment, such as around or on rotating machinery, live electrical circuits, hazardous materials, high-pressure liquids and gas, and bot surfaces. In addition, it may require lifting heavy objects of up to 75 pounds, and working in confined spaces, noisy environments, and elevated locations (such as climbing extension ladder and other types of ladders; or using scaffolding) either inside or outside of a building. During adverse weather, activities may require extensive after hours work or callback. This job may require wearing a full-face respirator in accordance with Georgia Tech campus policies and procedures. This job will require some evening hours and hours during peak times, as well as being a part of an on-duty rotation.
