Temporary Assistant Coach Diving/Pool Manager

About the Opportunity

Summary:

The Temporary Assistant Coach Diving will assist the head coach in maintaining a highly competitive Division I program to include recruitment of prospective student-athletes, practice and game coaching, fundraising, community service, off-season conditioning, and administrative tasks.

This temporary role also oversees the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and administration of Barletta Pool; oversees the hiring, training, testing, and certification of lifeguards; ensures that all appropriate water health and safety standards are maintained. Responsible for the continued assessment and upkeep of the pool; required to work on pre-determined weekends, mornings, and evenings to cover events throughout the year.

There is potential for a full-time position for the right candidate.

Qualifications:

Assistant Coach Diving: A bachelor’s degree is required. Candidate must have two to four years of diving coaching and recruiting experience in Division I Women’s Swimming & Diving; a thorough knowledge of recruiting practices and NCAA regulations; good organizational, communication, and time management skills;

and the ability to take on multiple tasks and work independently or in a team setting. Must be willing to work nights and weekends as well as be available for travel depending on the team schedules. Previous collegiate competition experience is preferred.

Pool Manager: Currently hold/willing to obtain: Certification/Licensure American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification, American Red Cross Professional Rescuer, CPR/AED Instructor Certification, and National Swimming Pool Foundation Certified Pool Operator Certification.
