POSITION SUMMARY:  

Serve as the Reserve team Head Coach and assist with the first team at the Head Coach's discretion. 

This position is time-bound with a defined start and end date. Start date for job will be June 1 with an end date of May 31st. This job will have required hours to be on campus throughout the year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the conduct, discipline, and positive character of student athletes by the guidelines and principles of MACU and the NAIA Champions of Character initiative.  
• Coaches or directs players in techniques of the game.
• Supervise, conduct, and control all training sessions.
• Lead and develop programs that will strengthen the character of the student athletics.
• Maintain a professional looking complex for recruits, visiting teams, students and alumni.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Must have the ability to drive University vans to away matches.
• Must have flexibility for overnight trips that require a hotel stay.

• Training days begin at 12:15pm with a coaches meeting to discuss team events, situations, and the day's training plan.
• Reports to the Head Coach, when not available, reports to Associate Head Coach.
• Assists the Development Team with sessions and games when available.
• Attend and work team service days and fundraising events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The candidate must also have an on campus in person interview and be able to pass a basic background check.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Education is mandatory.  Will receive a $7,500.00 annual stipend dispersed hourly. Preferred coaching experience in College, High School, or Club Soccer.  

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Email, text communication, and digital calendar use required. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Examples of these demands include but are not limited to working with field maintenance equipment, lifting and removing boxes from top shelves, carrying equipment to and from the shed and field(s), moving office furniture, carrying and moving weight room equipment, locker room maintenance, etc.  General weight demands for this position is approx 30 lbs.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  The days are long, hot, humid, and the candidate must be in appropriate physical condition to handle the daily work load described above.  The candidate must be a self starter, able to multi-task, and communicate effectively with students, coaching staff, faculty, and administration.  Candidate must deal with conflict in the appropriate manner.
