Job Purpose
In accordance with the mission of Wayne State University and the Department of Athletics, oversees all aspects of athletics ticket operations including external customers as well as Wayne State University Athletic retail operations and assists with operational coordination of the arena. This position must maintain compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference standards, rules and regulations relating to collegiate ticketing operations. Reports to Manager.
Essential Functions
Oversees ticket operations for Wayne State University Athletics ticketed sports including hiring and scheduling ticketing staff, following cash sales procedures, making deposits via Cashnet, completing reconciliation reports, ticket presales, season ticket sales and tracking event attendance. Collaborates with Athletic Compliance on National Collegiate Athletics Association approved student athlete complimentary tickets. There is heavy emphasis on good customer service skills and compliance with internal procedural controls related to cash handling.
Sets day-to-day operational objectives and provides overall leadership and direction to ticket operations staff. Hires, schedules and supervises staff. Sets expectations & focus, assigns duties, delegates responsibilities, evaluates activities, provides coaching, mentoring and training. Plans for future staffing needs. Provides timely communications and feedback to staff.

Supervises retail operations for Wayne State University Athletics including retail staff hiring and scheduling, cash and credit card handling, maintaining event displays and inventory tracking for merchandise (including any external customer merchandise per contracts), reconciliation, and deposits.
Supervises ticket operations for G-League and any other requested external customers. Includes hiring and managing ticketing staff, cash handling, completing deposits, reconciliations, tracking, equipment, and ability to manage and coordinate multiple ticketing operations for Wayne State University and National Basketball Association.
Assists with operational setup of arena for events.
Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's degree
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in sports management, athletic administration, business administration, exercise kinesiology, fitness, physical education or a related field from an accredited college or university. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)
Requires two or more years of customer service related experience with an athletic department or professional sports organization. Prior supervisory experience and cash handling experience are preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge and understanding of multiple Wayne State University and Athletics Department software programs.
Working knowledge and understanding of National College Athletics Association rules and regulations pertaining to compliance.
Strong organizational and supervisory skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, delegating when necessary, and completing work within deadlines in a changing environment with multiple priorities.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with others, including excellent written and oral communications skills.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office and Windows based systems, in addition to working knowledge of other programs (Adobe, Scheduling Software).
