Track & Field Graduate Assistant Throws Coach

Southwestern College is currently seeking applicants for the position of Graduate Assistant Coach for the Men’s & Women’s Track & Field Program with an emphasis on coaching the throwing events.  This position is on a 10-month contract that runs Aug 1st – May 31st.  Southwestern College, an NAIA institution and member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC), is a private comprehensive college with an enrollment of about 1,700 students.  With a main campus in Winfield, Kansas, it also offers degree completion programs online.  It is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and for more information about the college, please visitwww.sckans.edu.

Position Description
Duties for position include assisting the head coach in all aspects of the program (practices, matches, recruiting, conditioning, overseeing academics, etc.).  Collegiate and/or coaching experience preferred.  Recruiting experience encouraged but not required.  Good character & communication skills, self-motivation, and leadership skills are essential. Position compensated with graduate studies, housing, coaching & meal stipend. 

Position begins August 1, 2025

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and admission into a Southwestern College graduate program
• A valid driver’s license is required and must pass a Motor Vehicle Report
• Must pass a background check
• Collegiate running and/or coaching experience preferred
• Recruiting experience encouraged but not required

• Full tuition waiver – approx. $22,000 value (https://www.sckans.edu/graduate/)
• On-campus housing
• Meal stipend ($500 per semester)
• $5,000 stipend
