The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women’s and 10 men’s programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation’s premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as “The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.

is a dynamic and complex industry. It is a face paced, high profile, 24/7 business that requires around the clock support and access to a variety of information. The
DIA
relies heavily on the entire IT staff to support the complex systems as they are a crucial component of a strong and successful sports program which fulfills the overall mission of Rutgers Athletics and Rutgers University
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Unit Computing Specialist for the Athletics Events – Operations department.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Handles the day-to-day resolution of technical problems related to hardware, software, configuration issues and telecommunication issues for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (
DIA
) with a focus on the daily support of Football operations and its practices.
Performs network administration and the deployment of enterprise level projects including, but not limited to, Football Operations and Replay Systems for all sports.
Oversees help desk operations and coordinates with other IT staff for balanced and distributed support across the
DIA
.
Serves as the on-site IT representative at various athletic events to setup associated venue hardware and software, test operation, and rapidly responds to critical sport venue technology during matches so that issues are resolved quickly.
Conducts research on new technologies, as requested, including specialized software.
Selects and recommends the purchase of hardware and software for universitywide usage.
Plans and implements specailized software releases with little impact to daily operations.
Develops internal computing policies and procedures as required for the safe operation of systems and appropraite protection of data.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Two (2) years of related experience.

- Excellent written, oral, organizational, administrative and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and managerial skills.
- Ability to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with independent decision making.
- Ability to have initiative and creativity in the execution of projects.
- Ability to be motivated in learning and incorporating new technologies into the Division.
- Ability to install, support and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 11, Microsoft Office 365, Visio, Apple Products, Video capture and Replay Systems (e.g. Xos, DVSport, Hawkeye, HUDL, etc.)
- Proficiency in Apple School manager, Intune, and Airwatch.
- Knowledge of how to install systems from selection of hardware and software, to deployment and documentation, to continually protecting the systems and data on all computer networks and individual PCs, iPhones, and iPads.
- Experience in sports related environments, particularly Collegiate Football, including support of related technologies.
- Knowledge and use of fiber optic connectivity best practices.
- Familiarity with HIPAA & PHI regulations.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience using Windows RSAT (DHCP, GP, Print Management, ADUC).
- Experience with Deployment software (Ghost solution, KACE, Airwatch, InTune).
- Working knowledge of Cisco VoIP systems.
- Experience at a large University or Large Scale Business Enterprise.
- Familiarity with NCAA regulations and operations of an Athletic department.
- Familiarity with University Football systems.
- Familiarity with A/V, Meeting Room Technology, Video Capture and processing.
- Familiar with PC, Mac, and Mobile Device management platforms.
