| Job Description |
This is a university tenure-track faculty position with the academic rank of assistant professor. This individual will serve as the Program Director of the Rehabilitation Sciences (RHS) Bachelor’s degree program and will teach courses in both the undergraduate RHS program and the CAATE-accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training program.

| Job Duties |
The faculty member/program director is responsible for the management and administration of the program, including planning, evaluation, budgeting, and a commitment to strategies for professional development. The program director will review and revise if needed the mission statement, goals, and competencies of the program in addition to designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the RHS program in collaboration with other faculty in the department and college. This individual will teach courses in the Rehabilitation Sciences undergraduate program and the Master of Science in Athletic Training program. This faculty member will also mentor graduate students through their master’s thesis research projects and participate in the thesis courses with other faculty in the department. This faculty member will instruct, mentor, provide feedback, and evaluate students within their areas of expertise and interest and will ensure the availability of remedial instruction. This individual will also be responsible for ongoing curricular assessment and active participation in the development, initiation, and incorporation of instructional experiences within the curriculum design and will oversee the quality and delivery of didactic assessments. The faculty member will also serve as an academic advisor for students throughout their time in the RHS program to mentor and help with the development of academic, personal, and professional goals and proficiencies. They will participate in the recruitment of new students and admissions processes by reviewing applications, interviewing candidates, and rendering selection decisions. This faculty member will represent the Department of Athletic Training through service on department, college, and university-level committees as time allows. Participation in activities of state, regional, and national organizations to promote a positive image of the department within academic, lay, and professional communities is encouraged. In addition, this individual will serve as the lab coordinator and run open labs for undergraduate and graduate students each week. Will perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience as a core faculty in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level.

>5 years of full-time academic experience
Program Director Experience
Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
Strong critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with the use of computers for organization, word processing, and communication.
Experience mentoring graduate students through research thesis projects
Experience teaching therapeutic rehabilitation, orthopedic casting and splinting, orthotic fabrication, orthopedic assessment, and training standardized patients
Experience mentoring high school teachers who manage concurrent enrollment courses
Experience developing clinical simulations for undergraduate and graduate students
Experience with CAATE accreditation requirements
