This position manages daily operations and ensures compliance with Veteran Affairs (VA) regulations and university policies within the Office of the University Registrar’s Academic Compliance team. The area serves as a liaison between the veteran or dependent and the VA Regional Processing Office.

Daily Operations Management
Manage the daily functions of benefit certification processes within the Office of the University Registrar’s Academic Compliance Team.
Provide education benefits counseling to veterans and dependents.
Review and verify VA tuition payments.
Coordinate with the VA Regional Processing Office and University Bursar to resolve payment issues.
Manage audits of files and ensure compliance with state/federal VA regulations.
Monitor eligibility requirements, initiate change of status reports, and verify that students uphold the necessary academic standards to comply with both VA and university regulations.
Certify veterans and dependents electronically and maintain documentation for VA Compliance Survey.
Supervise, train, and evaluate staff assigned to the area.
Manage staff responsible for athletic certification processing.
Provide guidance and support to ensure effective execution of job responsibilities.
Cross-functional Support
Assist in various office tasks during peak workload periods, including academic catalog management, imaging, petitions, registration, room scheduling, commencement, and grade processing.
Collaborate with colleagues on major projects and updates to student record systems as needed.
Engage in area and office-wide staff meetings, both as a participant and as a presenter.
Outreach
Conduct outreach visits, facilitate orientation sessions, and provide informational communications to campus-wide constituents on Registrar processes and procedures.
Participate in educational workshops and training sessions to stay current with changes to VA programs, federal, and university regulations.
This position is located at the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, FL and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management's policies.
$55,000 annually

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledgeable on VA education benefits.
Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relations with others; ability to supervise.
Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
Ability to comprehend and interpret university and Registrar policies, procedures, and academic regulations.
Ability to establish work priorities and coordinate the timely completion of work assignments; strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and work with minimal supervision.
Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality.
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, Gator360, and other student records systems is also preferred.
