Job Description:

Position: Varsity Athletics Team Manager, Men's Basketball

Revision Dates: 09/2026

Reports to: Head Athletic Equipment Manager, Assistant Basketball Coach, and Head Basketball Coach

Department: Athletics

Rate of Pay: Maryland Minimum Wage

FSLA Status: Non-exempt

Location of Position: Gill Center, 2 College Hill, McDaniel College, Westminster, MD, 21157

Duration of Appointment: August 5, 2026 to May 25, 2027

Evaluation Procedures: Student workers are evaluated on a continuous basis.

Scope: Provide support for assigned Varsity team during practices, games and events.

Responsibilities:

• Attend practice and assist coaches with any items necessary
• Run the clock during practices
• Assist with equipment hand out
• Travel to away contests
• Keep scorebook during games
• Assist with Social Media accounts

Schedule:

• 20 hours max a week, must have availability from 6-8AM or 4-8:30PM depending on schedule, must be available on weekends
• Must be able to attend away contests
• Must be available during January Term

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Current student at McDaniel College
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Knowledge of the rules of assigned sport
• Discretion and reliability in sensitive and confidential matters are vital

Physical Characteristics:

This position requires some physical activity. This position does have some lifting involved but not more than 30 pounds at a time. The overall setting of the job is in the gymnasium.
