Position Summary
Under the lead work direction of the Digital and Social Media, the Photo and Video Assistant captures professional photos and video at Athletic events in compliance with NCAA guidelines. Pictures and video will be used for in the promotion of the Athletics Department.
FLSA : Non-Exempt
CSU Classification Salary Range : $2,923 - $5,580 per month
Hiring Range : $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Salary Grade/Range : 1
Recruitment Type : Temporary
Time Base : Hourly-Intermittent
Pay Plan : 12 months
Work Hours : Hours will vary based on operational needs; must be able to work evenings and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications
Entry to the first level within this classification requires a basic knowledge of and skill in videography and broadcasting. This knowledge and skill normally is obtained through a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least six months of experience in live events or any broadcasting event, including a thorough knowledge of video production techniques and broadcasting dynamics; furthermore an adept knowledge of cable management and basic collegiate sports knowledge of anticipation of plays.
Required Qualifications
Experience
1. Experience taking photos and video of athletics events.
2. Must have completed basic course understanding of filming, lighting, and video comprehension.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.
3. Must have basic collegiate sport knowledge of Div. I basketball, baseball, softball, gymnastics, volleyball, soccer and football.
4. Basic knowledge of broadcasting dynamics and work environment.
5. Ability to operate and troubleshoot digital cameras.
6. Ability to abide by established guidelines and policies (e.g. Sacramento State, National Collegiate Athletic Association).
7. Ability to work independently under general supervision.
8. Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
9. Good communication skills.
10. Good organization skills.
Work Requirements:
11. Ability to travel.
12. Must have appropriate gear for various outdoor conditions (50ºF – 100ºF), wet and dry.
13. Must attend Sacramento State home games.
14. Must have own transportation to and from home games.
15. Must be punctual responses and arrivals when assigned.
