Job Description

Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility:  The Volleyball Assistant Coach / JV Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Volleyball Coach in the administration and operation of the varsity volleyball program while serving as the primary coach for the junior varsity (JV) volleyball team. The position promotes the academic, athletic, personal, and leadership development of student-athletes and contributes to a positive, competitive environment that aligns with the mission, values, and goals of the university and athletic department.

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Athletics

Under the direct supervision of the Volleyball Head Coach

Works as needed.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

The Volleyball Assistant Coach / JV Volleyball Coach performs a variety of coaching, recruiting, administrative, and mentoring responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Coaching and Player Development

  • Serve as the head coach of the JV volleyball program, including planning and conducting practices, competitions, and team activities. 
  • Assist the Head Volleyball Coach with varsity team practices, game preparation, and competition management. 
  • Provide instruction in volleyball fundamentals, advanced techniques, conditioning, and strategy.
