Job Overview

Reporting to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, the Assistant Director of Player Development carries out all duties within the stated philosophy of Georgetown athletics and its educational mission, and will adhere to all institutional, Big East, and NCAA regulation to ensure the University’s compliance.

Primarily, they provide general and sport specific support to the coaching staff of the women’s basketball program, including but limited to:

• Assist the coaching staff in the overall development of the women’s basketball program, with primary focus on the recruiting aspect of the women's basketball program, such as on campus official visits, and recruiting correspondence
• Assist with recruiting strategy, correspondence and coordination on campus recruiting efforts and campus and facility tours

They also perform a wide variety of administrative assignments and basketball specific assignments on an as-needed basis.

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

The Women’s Basketball Assistant Director of Player Development reports to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach reports to the Director of Athletics.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 1 to 2 years of experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified or an equivalent combination of education and experience - preferably at college or university
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
• Knowledge of athletics recruitment methods and techniques
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Demonstrated ability to utilize good judgement in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures and to exercise discretion in confidential matters
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and insurability
• Ability to use and relevant Microsoft applications
• Availability to work weekends and evenings and to travel extensively
