Position Summary

The Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant is responsible for duties including but not limited to assistance with travel plans, set up for games & practices, managing equipment, game and practice video, on-court duties, social media, community service, and organizing team events.This is a student position open to current UIW graduate students.This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about Title IX violations. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Essential Functions

The Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant will work with women’s basketball, throughout the year, assisting in many roles relating to the development of the women’s basketball program. The Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant will be required to travel during the basketball season. Other duties as assigned.

Excellent oral, and written communication, and organizational skills. Ability to anticipate needs and provide solutions. Follow the mission of the university. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education

Current UIW Graduate Student

Required Work Experience

Prior basketball playing or managing experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Office and Photoshop desired.

Work Hours

Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift equipment, tools, and/or materials weighing up to 25 pounds waist high.
