JOB SUMMARY:
The Women's Club Water Polo Coach will provide support to club sport officers and participants. The successful candidate will plan, execute, and run practices, attend tournaments, and facilitate a fun and supportive learning environment for team members. The position functions under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Club Sports and supervises all Women’s Club Water Polo participants.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Develop and improve participant sport skills
Attend and supervise a majority of games and practices, including evenings and weekends
Submit Weekly Timesheets promptly and accurately
Communicate with the Associate Director of Club Sports as needed on issues associated with the club or any of its participants. These issues include, but are not limited to: travel, injuries, administrative tasks and responsibilities, etc.
Communicate with club officers (defined as executive board members and team captains) to establish and achieve team goals
Adhere to the travel guidelines set forth by the Department of Transportation and Parking and the Department of Recreational Sports when accompanying the club to off-campus matches and events
Able to work with club officers to maintain vision of team set by team/admin and bring team to their desired goals
Ability to create drills and run practices effectively with emphasis on developing player skills and attention to goalies as well as field players
Advise on player nominations for submission to the CWPA
Preferred knowledge of CWPA water polo rules and regulations

Ensure safety of participants and monitor environmental (pool/pool deck) conditions
Ensure that Injury Reports are completed for each injury and are given to Assistant Director of Club Sports within 24 hours
Ensure and coordinate proper warm-up/stretching for student-athletes prior to practice or competition
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High-level knowledge of the game
Strong communication skills and high accountability
Strong organizational skills
Enthusiasm and adaptability
Preferred 1+ years of water polo coaching experience at any level or higher OR previous experience playing at a competitive level (includes varsity and club); will give preference to applicants who have experience coaching/working with women’s teams
Preferred knowledge of CWPA water polo rules and regulations
