The part-time, Women’s Ice Hockey Staff Assistant is a temporary, hourly position that will not exceed 19-hours per week or a cumulative of 1,000 hours during the position period.  

Position Overview

The Part-time, Staff Assistant for Women's Ice Hockey in the Athletics Department, reporting to the Head Coach, W. Ice Hockey, is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of our Women's Ice Hockey program from on ice coaching, recruitment and all aspects pertaining to the Women's Ice Hockey program.

The Part-time, Staff Assistant for Women's Ice Hockey in the Athletics Department, reporting to the Head Coach, W. Ice Hockey, is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of our Women's Ice Hockey program from on ice coaching, recruitment and all aspects pertaining to the Women's Ice Hockey program.

Key Responsibilities 

40% of Time: Assist in the organization and direction of team video and statistics.

• Assist with the preparation and implementation of team video

• Coordinate and plan individual film sessions for student athletes

• Assist with game preparation, including opponent scouts, video breakdown, and develop game plans for special teams

• Assist in game operation and management of team personnel

• Review game film and generate key analytics

40% of Time: Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the Recruitment of Student-Athletes

• Identify and evaluate prospective student-athletes by attending various showcases, camps, and tournaments within the recruiting budget

• Build and maintain relationships with high school, and club coaches.

• Initiate and maintain regular communication with recruits via email, phone, text, and messaging platforms in alignment with NCAA regulations.

• Coordinate recruiting database and ensure accurate and updated records of all recruiting activity and inquiries.

• Organize and assist with on-campus visits, including itineraries, campus tours, and meetings with admissions and academic departments.

• Assist with planning and execution of on campus clinics and camps for recruitment exposure and evaluation.

20% of Time: Assist the Head Coach in all administrative and operational aspects of the women’s ice hockey program.

• Assist in coordinating schedules, managing apparel and equipment.

• Manage logistical details of team travel, including team meals

• Assist in team apparel and equipment inventory, distribution, and maintenance, including skate sharpening

• Performance of all other duties and special projects assigned by the Head Coach

Reporting Structure

Reports to the Head Coach, W. Ice Hockey and works under general supervision.

Qualifications and Skills

• Related work experience and/or past participation in ice hockey and a solid understanding of rules and regulations.
