Grays Harbor College Athletic Department invites applications for the position of Head Coach for Intercollegiate women’s soccer team. Reporting to the Athletic Director, the selected candidate will be responsible for leading all facets of the women’s soccer program, ensuring compliance with athletic department, college, and Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) guidelines. The Head Coach holds the primary role in fostering a holistic collegiate soccer journey for student-athletes, emphasizing academic success, competitive athletics, and personal growth opportunities. This is a part-time, non-tenure position without benefits eligibility.
The team is scheduled to resume competition in Fall 2025 and would not be competing this school year. The head coach will have theremainder of the 2024-25 academic year to recruit student athletes for the Fall 2025.

Coordinate the soccer program, assistant coaches and student athletes in accordance with established conference rules and regulations including the oversight of all eligibility rules and regulations as established by the athletic department.
Recruit student athletes following NWAC regulations and college guidelines.
Assist the student success navigator with the monitoring of student athlete’s academic progress.
Assist in the development of a competitive schedule in collaboration with the Athletic Director and in alignment with budgetary guidelines.

Coordinate the soccer program, assistant coaches and student athletes in accordance with established conference rules and regulations including the oversight of all eligibility rules and regulations as established by the athletic department.

Transport student-athletes in GHC Vans to and from competitions, or practice as needed.
Maintain minimum roster requirements as set by the Athletic Department.
Work with department personnel to coordinate game management, travel arrangements and athletic facility usage details.
Maintain inventory and ensure proper tracking of program equipment and apparel.
Assist in program budget administration and facilitate team-sponsored fundraising activities to enhance the program.
Timely processing of appropriate institutional and conference paperwork and reports.
Demonstrate continued professional growth by staying current in and expanding knowledge of soccer coaching techniques.
Adhere to the Athletic Department Coaches Handbook.
Represent the athletics department and programs in the community, including community service projects.
Attend department meetings as requested.
Conduct end of season exit interviews and discuss with the Athletic Director.
Conduct and participate in fundraising activities that will be allocated for team expenses and scholarships.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree
Demonstrated experience as a soccer coach
Availability to attend practices and games on weekday afternoons and evenings, and weekends
Demonstrated understanding of soccer rules and regulations
Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain certification within the first 2 months of practice
Availability to travel out of state as needed
Valid unrestricted Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Commitment to a philosophy of promoting student success
Knowledge of NCAA and NWAC soccer rules and regulations
Experience coaching and recruiting at the college level
