Position Summary
The Women’s Volleyball Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of program
operations including recruiting, coaching and mentoring student athletes. The Assistant Coach will
take initiative to formulate meaningful relationships, be a self-starter, and infuse the program with
positive energy. This position will also be directly involved in the coordination of recruit visits, team
travel, game day management, equipment management, camps and fundraising.

Recruit and mentor student-athletes who will embody Eastern’s core mission and values.
Assist in recruiting strategies and management.
Coordinate prospective student-athlete’s campus visits/official visits.
Attend high school and club events for recruiting purposes.
Facilitate in all aspects of coaching including practice planning, skill development, practice
and game-day management, game film breakdown and statistical analytics.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate well with student-athletes and coaching staff.
Assist in organizing away match details including hotel and meal accommodations.
Assist in all areas of running summer camps including database management, practice
planning and coaching.
Assist in the creativity of our social media platforms.
Collaborate with Head Coach on fundraising opportunities, promotions and current events.
Maintain a high level of professionalism on and off the court toward student athletes, other
coaches, parents, administration, and members of the community.
Demonstrate the commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy and the student-athlete
experience.
Embody the values of caring and compassion, justice and integrity, competence and
affirmation.
Seek to treat each member of the campus community with fairness, dignity and respect
seeking a spirit of unity and harmony as we join to achieve our common mission.
Monitor and adhere to Eastern University, Title IX, NCAA and MAC policies, procedures and
guidelines.
Perform a secondary responsibility as assigned by the Director of Athletics. (game
management, facility oversight, etc.)
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Demonstrate knowledge in NCAA DIII rules along with the MAC
Conference.
The ability, and desire, to work successfully within a team-oriented department environment is
required. A commitment to the Division III philosophy of athletics, a working knowledge of NCAA
rules, and a demonstrated ability to recruit, retain and mentor student-athletes is essential.
Candidates must exhibit an understanding of, and support for, the University’s Christian Mission.
Additional qualifications include excellent interpersonal and organization skills and an ability to
effectively communicate the mission and vision of Eastern University and the Athletic Department
to alumni and friends of the university.
