JOB PURPOSE
The Women's Volleyball Coach is responsible for leading, developing, and managing all aspects of the women's volleyball program in alignment with the mission and values of Spurgeon College and the NCCAA. This role exists to mentor student-athletes spiritually, academically, and athletically, fostering a Christ-centered team culture that emphasizes integrity, discipline, and excellence. The coach will oversee recruitment, training, competition, and character development, ensuring compliance with institutional, conference, and NCCAA regulations while promoting academic success and spiritual growth
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Display Christ-like character at all times.
Recruit top-level Christian student-athletes.
Organize and instruct the team during practices and games.
Manage the basketball budget.
Cultivate a Christ-centered community.
Assist the athletic department with administrative tasks.
Adhere to the NCCAA guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications include:
Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship with God
Church membership in good standing
Bachelor’s degree preferred
High-level coaching experience
College experience preferred
Ability to use Microsoft programs
Ability to utilize recruiting websites
Must be physically able to perform task necessary for coaching college athletics
Able to multi-task, analyze workload, and prioritize as necessary for the benefit of the department
Must possess strong attention to detail
Able to take the initiative to complete the duties of the position without the need of direct supervision.
Able to learn and utilize new skills and information to improve job performance and efficiency.
Must be able to work independently, as well as a part of a team
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Must possess a positive attitude
Must be able to show a desire and willingness to learn
Must be able to pass a background screening, including driving record

WORKING CONDITIONS
Nights and Weekends as needed
Typically, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm

Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Working outside in different weather conditions
Must be able to demonstrate, within reason, practice drills.
