Position Information

The Women's Soccer Head Coach will be a positive, energetic leader with the ability to teach, motivate, and recruit student-athletes. The Head Coach is primarily responsible for coordinating all aspects of a NCAA Division I Women's Soccer program including, but not limited to, managing day-to-day operations, recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, fostering and supporting student-athlete welfare, practice and game day preparation and coaching, scheduling, budget management, hiring and supervising assistant coaches, fundraising and public relations, and adherence to the NCAA, Big West, and University rules. The successful candidate must be able to develop positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, media, alumni, and boosters while interacting successfully with department personnel and the University community. The full salary range for the Women's Soccer Head Coach is $81,500.00 - $150,100.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

| Highly advanced and effective interpersonal, motivational and team leadership skills to work effectively with athletic participants, staff and parents of student athletes. | | Ability to demonstrate creativity, sound judgment and decision-making; be an effective problem solver and be highly effective communicating verbally, in writing and for live media presentations. | | Recognized expertise in team sport and coaching principles for student athletes. | | Supervisory and leadership skills to mentor and develop assistant coaches and/or program instruction staff. | | Current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards. |

Leads an intercollegiate athletics sports program. Allocates resources to meet schedules and achieve success. Identifies program objectives and develops and directs strategies for successful programs. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the sports program. May provide guidance to other personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Description Percent Time Evaluates student-athletes performance and designs instructional opportunities to improve technical and strategic execution based on sound motor learning and bio-mechanical principles. Assumes full team responsibility for performance.

• Prepare and implement practice and game day coaching strategies; promote an environment that fosters individual and team development while demonstrating concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete.

| 20% | | Develops and implements an effective recruitment plan. Assumes full team responsibility for recruitment within the framework of the university, department, conference, NCAA rules. - Evaluate and recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes who can be successful in an academic environment, have the ability to graduate from the institution, and will contribute athletically; coordinate the awarding of athletic grants-in-aid.
