Athletic Trainers work study
Athletics Work Study Supervisor: Debbie Ford
Location: Hunt PE Athletic Training Room
* Fill and transport water coolers and bottles to the field or court for daily practice sessions
* Fill and transport water coolers and ice chest to the field for all home games for both home and away teams.
* Get sports medicine equipment ready for practices and games and assist in the clean-up following those events.
* Assist the certified athletic trainer in inventory of equipment and supplies.
While specific duties and responsibilities will vary for each sports medicine student according to is/her experience and capabilities, certain general responsibilities for all students should be performed:
Familiarize yourself with the athletic training facility and all policies and procedures; Familiarize yourself with the daily cleaning duties and contribute your share;
Refer all injuries to the certified athletic trainer;
Understand the game/meet and practice procedures that include pre-game preparation, side line duties/equipment;
Be available for additional duties, which may not be mentioned above.
Applicant must be enrolled full-time as a McMurry student with an award of work study funds and all required information received by the Office of Financial Aid. Must be able to provide original forms of identification to complete payroll documents as described in
IRS
Form I-9 “List Of Acceptable Documents.”
High School/G.E.D.
Responsible, dependable individual able to meet the hours required for this position.
The athletics training student employee will be expected to report to the Athletic Training Room 1 hour prior to practice time and be at practice until it is over. The position will require varying hours with some weeks requiring more hours while others will require fewer hours. Student employees are expected to be at all home football games and may travel to away games if space is available.
There will be physical work such as lifting, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, etc. of training equipment and supplies to be described in more detail at interview.
Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time McMurry student with work study funding awarded and required documents received by the Office of Financial Aid.
