Academic Advisor for Student-Athletes provides comprehensive academic support for student-athletes under the direction of the Director of the Student Success Center while also leading the student-athlete Life Skills program. Advises student-athletes towards graduation while monitoring NCAA rules and eligibility requirements. | | Minimum Qualifications |
Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services or related field and 1-year related experience. A successful background check is required.

Prefer experience in advising student-athletes. Previous teaching experience is highly desirable. | | Knowledge/Skills/Abilities |
Experience in Division I athletic academic support services. Excellent organizational, management, and office skills. Demonstrated experience working successfully in a high-traffic, high-demand environment and ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Information technology proficiency in database and spreadsheet software and Microsoft Office products. |

Assist in the academic advising load of undeclared student-athletes. Assist these students in the development of an educational plan including choosing a program of study and/or clarifying educational goals. Key aspects include maintenance of the integrity of academic policies, while being a student advocate and fostering a culture of student responsibility and success, providing students with information about possible consequences of academic decisions, and creating plans of study. Assist with student-athlete specific registration issues (i.e. priority registration, authorizing drop/add, assist with course conflicts due to athletics, etc.).
