Job Description

Responsible for providing acupuncture services to student athletes including assessment and  treatment. This would include acupuncture treatment technique involving stimulation of points and combinations of points on the body surface by the insertion of acupuncture needles, manual therapies to the skin and soft tissues,  and health education.

 

Assessment may occur through a multidisciplinary collaboration involving a range of methods including  history and observational and tactile assessments. The acupuncturist may also refer a patient to an appropriate specialist or co-manage with other healthcare providers. The acupuncturist is considered to be a member of the Athletic Medicine team.
