They are responsible for generating interest in the College, engaging prospective students and families, supporting community and camp initiatives, and ensuring that their efforts contribute not only to enrollment growth but also to student retention and long-term success.
In addition, Recruiters play an active coordinating role in coach-driven enrollment support, helping activate and track a structured model in which coaching staffs contribute to admissions events, summer camps as enrollment pipelines, and community-based lead generation
Recruiters represent New College with professionalism and enthusiasm, serving as ambassadors who embody the College’s mission and values
This position is also designed as a growth track role within Athletics, with the expectation that the individual will progressively assume expanded sport-program responsibilities and, as the wrestling program scales, be prepared to step into head coaching leadership for men’s and women’s wrestling.

Coach Partnership & Enrollment Support Activation
Coordinate and support a structured coach enrollment support model across three lanes
On-campus enrollment events
Summer camps as enrollment pipelines
Community-based non-athlete lead identification
Help plan and staff admissions-facing events with coaching participation and ensure coaches understand expectations and messaging
Encourage and support coaching staffs in providing admissions-ready camp participant lists and appropriate follow-up handoffs
Assist in building systems for collecting and sharing coach-generated non-athlete leads with Admissions
Coach-aligned metrics supported/tracked by this role:
Coaches complete 2 admissions-facing appearances per semester (or 4 per year)
Each coaching staff supports at least 1 camp per cycle that produces an admissions-ready participant list
Coaches generate 3-5 non-athlete leads per coach per semester, shared with Admissions.
Community & Camp Engagement
Assist in planning, promoting, and delivering community camps, clinics, and youth engagement programs
Represent New College at community events, schools, clubs, and organizational gatherings to generate interest and build positive relationships
Contribute to the design and execution of age-appropriate, mission-aligned camp programming, including offerings with non-athlete value themes such as leadership, performance mindset, nutrition, and team culture
Ensure professionalism and strong communication with participants, parents, and community partners
Work with Facilities staff and Enrollment Management personnel to support logistics and event setup/breakdown
Program Development & Wrestling Leadership Progression
Support the growth of New College’s wrestling footprint through recruitment relationships, community presence, and event/camp programing that strengthen awareness and participation
Assist with wrestling-related camps, clinics, and outreach initiatives as assigned, helping build sustainable pipelines and community partnerships.
Contribute to the development of operational readiness for men’s and women’s wrestling (e.g., recruiting workflows, camp models, community engagement, and program support systems) in coordination with Athletics leadership
Demonstrate readiness for increased coaching responsibility over time through mentorship, professional development, and progressive involvement in sport-program leadership, with the long-term expectation of transitioning into the Head Coach role for men’s and women’s wrestling as program needs and institutional timing align
Personal Development, Accountability & Reporting
Actively participate in leadership and skill development opportunities led by the Recruiter Engagement & Community Coordinator
Meet assigned goals for outreach, event participation, camp impact, and coach-partner activation
Provide timely updates and reports to the Recruiter Engagement & Community Coordinator regarding activities, progress, and challenges
Collaborate with other recruiters to share best practices and strengthen overall team performance
Institutional Alignment
Partner with Foundation personnel when appropriate to ensure recruitment and camp activities align with institutional development initiatives
Reinforce New College’s mission and values through consistent messaging and representation in all external engagements
Contribute ideas for new community-facing opportunities and recruitment strategies
Uphold compliance with institutional policies, enrollment standards, and scheduling expectations

Minimum Qualifications
At least 2-3 years of experience in recruitment, admissions, community engagement, or related fields (higher education or athletics experience preferred)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage students, families, and community members effectively
Demonstrated ability to remain organized, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Comfort coordinating cross-functional participation from coaching staffs and operational partners
Willingness to work evenings and weekends for events, camps, and recruitment activities
Commitment to professional growth and representing New College positively in all settings
Interest in and aptitude for coaching leadership, with the willingness to develop into expanded sport-program responsibilities as assigned
