The Admissions Transfer Coordinator within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Hampton University will provide excellent service to prospective transfer students and their families as they look at transitioning into HU. This position is responsible for a recruitment territory with growth opportunities and has flexibility in finding new and innovative ways to recruit stellar future Pirates.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Serves as primary contact for transfer recruitment, to include coordinating recruiting efforts and identifying prospective qualified undergraduate students.
Serve as the primary contact for transfer articulation issues.
Assists in the planning and admissions review of student-athletes matriculating to the university.
Interpret and continually work to improve the encoding for both the Degree Audit and Banner systems and verify that the information is accurate to assist both current and prospective students.
Manages recruitment territory, assists in planning and executing transfer specific events and programs on and off campus.
Develop and maintain records of existing and developing partnerships. This includes all established transfer pathways, transfer agreements, 2+2 agreements. This also includes the maintenance/renewal of all agreements.
Manages the compilation and timely dissemination of detailed student-athlete admission reports and updates to coaches, sport supervisors, Athletics Compliance, and Director of Athletic Academic Services.
Meets with prospective student-athletes (and their family members) on their official recruiting visits to Hampton University, as requested by coaching staff.
Prepares unofficial evaluations of prospective transfer student-athlete records, including dual enrolled high school student-athletes.

Works cooperatively with university departments to obtain course equates for domestic and international students.
Assists with the collection, validation and submission of data required for the NCAA APR and GSR academic reports.
Represents Hampton University on committees within the athletics department and/or on campus.
Represents Hampton University by participating in conferences or national committees or special assignments.
Serves as primary contact for transfer credit evaluation, coordinates advisement efforts of prospective students.
The position will require some evening and weekend work.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Basic knowledge of the usage of personal computers and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheet and/or database management programs).

Equipment Operated : Computer and all other standard office equipment.
Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, some evenings and weekends as needed. Some travel may be involved.
Minimum Qualifications : Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant experience. A valid driver’s license is required.
Preferred Qualifications: A master’s degree, 1 year of experience within the previous 5 years (internships experience included)
Other Qualifications:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and to lift and carry large quantities of heavy recruitment materials.
Must have valid U.S. driver’s license and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that follows university policies.
Must have an interest in working with prospective college students, transfer students and their families.
Excellent customer service skills. Proven ability to excel in a high-volume telephone and customer service position.
