The Gamecock Athletic Foundation Annual Giving Officer is responsible for assigned development activities for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Office for Philanthropy at Jacksonville State University, with a primary focus on managing and coordinating the annual giving programs for the Gamecock Athletic Foundation.
Manage and coordinate the annual giving initiatives for the Gamecock Athletic Foundation by developing plans and programs to maximize revenues.
Develop and implement an annual action plan to fulfill all quantifiable work performance goals for contacts, solicitations and new prospects identified.
Coordinate solicitations for the Gamecock Athletic Foundation, to include individual team solicitations based on team needs, including direct mail, e-mail, newsletters and other fundraising channels, by partnering with the appropriate internal and external partners.
Work in partnership with the Office for Philanthropy Stewardship and Donor Engagement Coordinator to coordinate and execute stewardship for participating donors.
Work with the JSU Foundation to oversee data integrity, tracking process and donor information for all athletic annual donations, to include donor levels, annual statements, pledges and renewals.
Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of the JSU Foundation, Jax State intercollegiate athletic programs assuring effective representation of all aspects of the program and needs for private support.
Plan and execute, hospitality, donor stewardship and recognition programs, and other special events as assigned, including, but not limited to, programs held concurrently with athletic contests at JSU or opponent venues, the Coaches' Caravan (spring and fall meetings), sport specific club/alumni events, golf tournaments, etc.
Coordinate, with appropriate staff from JSU Communications Office, Jax State Athletics Sports Information Office, the production of athletic development publications, printed material, and other media content, including web materials and social media.
Develop and execute plans for volunteers to assist the athletic development program, including organizing and conducting prospect rating sessions, in conjunction with appropriate JSU Foundation staff, recruiting and training of volunteer leaders, student workers, and conduct other cultivation activities and programs as needed.
Coordinate all development efforts with the JSU Foundation and comply with all JSU Foundation reporting and accountability standards.
Manage sensitive and confidential information related to donors, ticket holders, student¬ athletes, coaches and staff utilizing discretion and correct decisions. Failure to use proper discretion at the required level could result in major and significant embarrassment to the University and/or have a significant impact on image, revenues and eligibility of student-athletes.
Faithfully and diligently execute related duties of the Office for Philanthropy and the duties of the Jax State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Minimum of one (1) year of progressive development experience
Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations
Relevant experience may be substituted for Master’s degree
Direct experience working with and managing annual giving programs and donors
