About the Position:
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
The Aquatics Facility Manager is responsible for supporting the SMU swimming and diving programs by coordinating and implementing all operational, logistical, and technical efforts related to the swim programs and facilities.
Essential Functions:
Oversee all aspects of the swimming programs and facilities to include the day-to-day operations of the indoor and outdoor pools.
Lead the efforts in maintaining the cleanliness of the pool to include chemical treatments, risk and safety management, equipment and pool regulations, and scheduling of lifeguards when needed.
Serve as main point of contact for scheduling of outside groups.
Serve as lead for scheduling officials and hospitality needs for competitions.
Assist with staffing for competitions and outside users.
Serve as lead on coordination of camps and lessons.
Oversee Assistant Aquatics Director and direct day-to-day activities
Position requires regular evening and weekend work for competitions and events
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
A minimum of one year of work experience is required, preferably in operations for a swim program.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. A strong customer service orientation is essential.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills. A strong focus on attention to detail is essential. Strong project management skills desired.
CPO and MPO certification are required. A working knowledge of an NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving program preferred.
A working knowledge of Meet Manager and Colorado Gen7 preferred.
