JOB PURPOSE:
Recruits, provides instruction and coaches archery students. Responsible for managing all aspects of the USA Archery intercollegiate program for NTU.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruits archery athletes for the program.
Coaches and supervising student practices.
Manages archers and other USA Archery Association (USA Archery) events for Navajo Technical University (NTU).
Travels with the teams to off-campus collegiate archery events.
Prepares and maintains the program budget.
Acts as an advisor to the Archery Club and interact frequently with students, parents, boosters, and the general public.
Plans and coordinates fundraising activities for the rodeo program.
Responsible for maintenance of the archery equipment and facilities, including practice area.
Insures all rules and regulations of NTU and USA Archery are maintained.
Help prepare for NTU Fall and Spring Archery; sponsors, stocks, personal, and etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES:
N/A (NTU Student Athletes Archery Members)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Five years' experience actively coaching archery students.
Archery Association experience preferred.
Valid state driver's license.
Must be able to pass background check, with NO prior convictions of any felonies.
The Navajo Nation Preference in Employment Act applies to all hiring, promotions or transfers of individuals into this position.

Skill in coaching and mentoring.
Skill in caring for archery equipment.
Skill in operating business computers and office machines.
Strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
Ability to develop external financial resources for the support of the archery program.
Ability to build, plan, and implement archery program.
Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively in the Navajo and English language.
Ability to work as a team member in a structured working environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit for prolonged periods, walk and stand.
Use hands for dexterity of motion, repetitive movement of both hands.
Have normal auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is generally performed in outdoor arena and some indoor class work.
Exposure to natural weather conditions, various dusts and mists, and normal debris and hazards common at sites may occur while performing outdoor duties.
Physical risk working with livestock and equipment.
Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
Evening and/or weekend work will be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
