CONTEXT OF THE JOB:
The Assistant Athletic Director (AD), Athletics Eligibility at the University of Delaware is a valued member within the University and Department of Athletics, Community & Campus Recreation (DACCR), upholding and embracing the departmental mission of “Achieving Excellence Together”. The Assistant AD reports directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director (AD), Governance and Compliance. The Assistant AD coordinates admission and eligibility for student athletes and serves as the coordinator of university efforts between DACCR, University Registrar’s Office, Center for Global Programs and Services and Admissions.

The Assistant AD coordinates admission and eligibility for student athletes and serves as the coordinator of university efforts between DACCR, University Registrar’s Office, Center for Global Programs and Services and Admissions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Apply Now· Directs the initial eligibility process of all incoming UD prospective student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, conference, and UD bylaws and policies/procedures.
· Serves as the primary athletics liaison to the UD admissions office and NCAA Eligibility Center. Prepares appropriate information, as needed, to UD coaches and staff related to NCAA initial eligibility requirements, UD undergraduate or graduate admissions requirements, pre-enrollment, orientation, transfer rules under NCAA and UD policies or procedures, pre-enrollment amateurism requirements for the NCAA, and eligibility reports.
· In partnership with the UD Registrar’s Office, Student Services for Athletes counselors, and the Athletic Compliance office, provides information and assists with managing the eligibility certification process for all UD student-athletes.
· Assist with NCAA mandatory reports (e.g. APR, GSR).
· Communicate with coaches, academic and compliance staff daily regarding tracking of recruited prospective student-athletes and evaluation of any potential deficiencies, challenges and/or concerns with a prospective student-athlete’s initial eligibility.
· Ensure that all transcript and initial eligibility information is updated in compliance software daily.
· Serves as the primary athletics liaison to the Center for Global Programs and Services (CGPS) for prospective international student-athletes and communicates with UD coaches, staff, and compliance regarding CGPS and immigration requirements for admission and enrollment.
· Meets with prospective student-athletes to discuss initial eligibility and admissions requirements. Respond to questions from prospective student-athletes and present rules
education to coaches and staff regarding changes in NCAA initial eligibility regulations or University of Delaware admissions standards or requirements.
· Attend applicable NCAA and conference meetings and stay updated on relevant NCAA or conference legislation.
· Assist in preparing various NCAA reports.
· Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus three to five years’ experience in Division I NCAA compliance, University Admissions, University Registrar’s office or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in the NCAA Division I compliance office or student-athlete services office.
· Experience using NCAA software applications (EC, Academic Portal, Transfer Portal).
· Experience using ARMS and Teamworks.
