Job Description Summary

JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance ensures compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, NCAA, and MEC. This includes initial and continuing eligibility of student-athletes, training/education of all student-athletes and staff, and serves as the initial contact regarding all rule management and reporting of violations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

FUNCTIONS

  1. Ensures that all Athletics and university-related activities associated with the department operate in full compliance with university, conference, and national rules and regulations.
  2. Responsible for developing and conducting training and education programs for the university staff and student-athletes regarding compliance with the NCAA and the University rules and regulations.

  3. Serve as the primary liaison between the Athletics Department and other constituencies with compliance responsibilities, Registrar, Admissions, and Financial Aid. Coordinate the processes for certification of initial, transfer, and continuing eligibility and financial aid.

  4. Responsible for administering and monitoring all systems designed to ensure compliance with University rules and regulations (including but not limited to self-reporting, violation protocol, etc).
