This is a 12-month full time position residing in the Athletic Department within the Division of Student Affairs. This position of Assistant Athletic Director for Communications reports to the Executive Director of Athletics. The AssistantAthletic Director is a member of the management team and a team leader that provides direct supervision for full time, part time and student employees.
The Assistant AD for Communications is responsible for all communications initiatives for the Athletic Department and it's 20 intercollegiate athletic teams. This individual has a wide range of responsibilities which include: teammanagement, customer service, writing, editing, graphic design, social media, webpage management, archiving, marketing,promotions, proactive media pitching and the facilitation of interviews and questions. The Assistant AD will also be directlyresponsible for advising and executing the department s awards and honors in collaboration with the larger team as well assupporting other department wide announcements and crisis/issues management.
The Assistant AD for Communications is the lead game management supervisor responsible for thecoordination of game day staffing (internal and external), promotional events & activities, community outreach, special events andspecial announcements across the department's 20 sponsored sports. The Assistant AD will serve as a forward-thinking expert inthe field that actively keeps abreast of trends and tools and helps educate the athletic staff to identify and seize opportunities thatarise.
