Position Summary:

The assistant athletic director for men’s basketball operations and special assistant to the head coach is responsible for all program operations, managing travel for players and coaches/administrators/students, managing the student-athlete basketball life skills and players’ development, and coordinating special events for the program. This person will also manage recruiting records in accordance with NCAA regulations for recruiting of student-athletes, manage booster functions for donors (including dinner meetings, fundraising events, etc.), and coordinate speaking engagements for the head coach. In their role as special assistant to the head coach, the incumbent will advise the head coach on NIL matters and act as liaison to the Associate AD for NIL on the program’s need for direct institutional support payments. The incumbent will serve as a representative of the University, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the Rice community and with the public.
