Functioning as member of the administrative team for the Embry-Riddle Athletics program, the primary purpose of the Assistant Athletic Director for Student Success is to develop, administer and oversee support services for student-athletes that focus on academic achievement, personal and career development, while also providing general leadership for the department.
The position will assess the needs of student-athletes, develop programs and provide services that enhance the academic experience, provide personal development resources, and encourage proactive career planning activities for student-athletes. With a goal of focusing on “Life in the Balance” concepts, the position will work to build an educational and developmental foundation, through policies and programs that promote a holistic and successful collegiate experience for all student-athletes, including the Ridder Transformational Program and BEST program. The work will aid in recruiting and retaining student-athletes by ensuring a positive collegiate experience in academic achievement, physical and mental health, inclusion and belonging, leadership, and personal development.
The position also coordinates and executes all administrative functions for the athletics department and more than 60 full-time, part-time, and student employees. This administrative role coordinates all human resource functions for the department including searches, appointments, and time reporting.
The position will serve as a member of the Athletic Department senior administrative team and represent the department as appropriate at department, University and community events. The position also provides oversight of multiple intercollegiate sport programs.
