This is an Internal Employment Opportunity The Athletic Department is seeking an Assistant Director/General Manager, Sales & Service . This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. The mission of the OSU Department of Athletics is to Go Build Excellent, Authentic, Visionary Student-Athletes (GO B.E.A.V.S.). The Assistant AD/GM, Sales & Service reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations and is responsible for creating a comprehensive sales and service strategy. Responsible for strategies in the areas of premium seats, season tickets, all other ticket products, parking, and creative revenue generation opportunities. Oversight of the use of data analytics as a tool for maximizing revenue generation. Provides supervision and leadership to assigned staff within the sales team. Contributes to the leadership, development, and execution of the athletic department’s strategic plan.

40 % Sales & Revenue Generation Works collaboratively with Senior Associate AD, External and Assistant AD Ticket Operations to determine and then execute sales and renewal strategy for all ticketed sports. Maintains a book of premium accounts to manage directly. Works collaboratively with OSU Foundation on gifts related to premium seat capital projects. Manages the production and delivery of premium seat usage agreements. Manages premium seat upgrade process through internal and season ticket holder communications utilizing OSU Athletics Beaver Points System. Develops the communication calendar and strategy specifically for premium accounts and works collaboratively with OSU Marketing to develop communication calendar for general sales cycle. Works collaboratively with Senior Associate AD, External, Assistant AD Ticket Operations, and Director of Marketing to develop communication plans surrounding annual sales cycles, including email marketing activations, social pushes, and direct sales team communications. Actively pursues single game sales of unsold premium inventory to generate additional revenue. Participates in meetings designated for the purpose of ideating creative revenue generation concepts. Works with the Assistant AD, Ticket Operations to make recommendations on new products and/or pricing adjustments with the intent of generating revenue and/or providing a new experience. 30 % Service Conducts pre-season meetings with OSU Facilities and Event Management, and other meetings as required, to confirm premium spaces are prepared properly prior to guest arrival. Oversees premium seat relationship with OSU Athletics concessionaires. Oversees relationship with contracted security staff to ensure premium spaces are monitored in a professional manner and in support of area hosts. Supports Athletic Department priorities in executing gameday engagements between premium seat donors, university leadership, deans, and directors. Establishes seasonal survey calendar to understand areas of success and improvement for guests, within survey calendar, increase fan experience efforts with survey data captured. Has the authority to determine which inbound service needs from premium accounts in portfolio will be handled directly or delegated to a team member. 30% Leadership Is the supervisor of record for the position of Director of Data & Analytics. Functions as the on-site manager of third-party sales and service team and is the primary liaison to the third-party sales company and their leadership team. In collaboration with the third-party ticket sales staff, oversees the distribution of all accounts and sales leads for the sales team members and works closely with the Director of Data and Analytics to determine a fair and reasonable distribution of accounts. Provides supervision and leadership for the premium service student team and manages or delegates the recruitment, hiring, training and game day duties for this team. Oversees and determines which game day related service tasks are delegated to the appropriate staff/students (examples: Distribute donor guest passes prior to games, wine lockers, account IT needs, suite cosmetic updates, deliveries, etc.). Functions as the budget authority for sales. Actively participates in external leadership and senior staff meetings.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sport Management, Marketing or related field. Three (3) years of experience in development, events, or athletic ticket sales. Properly document and follow donor communications within customer relationship management (CRM) and athletics ticketing software. Manage and exceed expectations in hospitality settings Understand tax laws in relation to college athletics premium seats Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Work within a professional environment with enthusiasm while maintaining attention to detail Communicate with strong interpersonal skills Provide positive and effective customer service that supports the Athletic Department, Our Beaver Nation, and the OSU Foundation operations Ensure that the confidentiality and dignity of the donor and donor information is always maintained Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to effectively resolve issues A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
