The University of Pittsburgh Athletics Department invites applications for the Assistant Athletic Director, Major Gifts — a key leadership role within the Pitt Athletics development team. This position is responsible for driving philanthropic growth by designing and executing comprehensive major gift strategies that advance the department's mission and long-term priorities.

The Assistant Athletic Director, Major Gifts will manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects, building meaningful relationships that inspire transformational giving. This individual will lead the full lifecycle of major gift fundraising — from identification and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship — while collaborating closely with senior leadership to align engagement strategies with institutional goals.

Leads team and oversees the active involvement of senior leadership in the implementation and execution of principal gifts strategy and engagement. Manages budgets and evaluates program success.

•Oversees the active involvement of the Chancellor and senior leadership of the University and UPMC in the implementation and execution of principal gifts strategy and engagement.

•Manages annual operating plans and budgets supporting program priorities and assesses program strengths and weaknesses in relation to objectives.

Physical Effort 

Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.

Additional details about Required Licensure/Certification Collegiate Athletics experience strongly preferred. An equivalent combination of work experience and high-level playing experience may be substituted at the discretion of the University.
