Ensures that all student-athletes are eligible to participate by working with the NAIA Eligibility Center in processing the eligibility requirements of freshmen student-athletes and any transfers, as well as processing and certifying the continuing eligibility of current student-athletes.
Oversees the communication and administration of financial aid and scholarships for all student-athletes to ensure the university is in compliance with NAIA regulations governing financial aid to student-athletes by working directly with the campus financial aid office.
Oversight of roster management and proper coding of student-athletes for all sports.
Manages the approval process of student-athletes dropping from classes to ensure NAIA compliant.
Responsible for completing all mandated forms, reports, assessments, and audits as required by various agencies (EADA, ROA, NAIA, etc.)
Oversees the new rules education system being introduced by the NAIA in the fall of 2024 to our department and tracks the completion of all required parties.
Maintains systems for rules monitoring, staff education, and report of violations.
Provides education to student-athletes on Name, Image, and Likeness to be sure we are in compliance and maintains records of NIL deals.
Liaison between NAIA, Eligibility Center, and other institutions or individuals regarding compliance.
Contributes to game day set up for home events as needed
Assists with game day management of home events
Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive strategic plan for athletics revenue generation including the building and maintaining of corporate relationships and sponsorships for the IUK Athletic Department.
Manages and expands our current sponsorship level program.
Leads athletic department in all external donor engagement efforts in connection with and in support of the athletics strategic plan and revenue generation plan.
Assists in planning and implementing of fundraising events on and off campus to help bring in external revenue to the athletic department and university.
Collaborates with Media and Marketing for on and off campus marketing and branding of IUK Athletics and IUK Athletic events.
Assists in planning and implementing key departmental events such as Golf Outings, Athletics End of Year Celebration, etc.
Contributes to the overall success of the department by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
General Responsibilities
Complies fully with all NCAA, Big Ten (or other conference) and Indiana University rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Develops and manages the annual budget for the assigned sports program.
Works with compliance staff on rules education, required compliance documentation, rules interpretations, and other compliance issues or requirements related to the assigned sports program.
Collaborates with Sports Medicine, athletic training, and sport psychologist to advance player development.
Manages external relations and community outreach activities including community service and engagement by team members and coaching staff. Seeks out, investigates, and develops team opportunities.
Conducts a variety of human resource activities which may include, recruitment, selection, labor relations, training, and ensuring pay equity for functional area.
Develops and implements new processes, standards, and policies that ensure adherences to departmental goals.
