The purpose of the Assistant Athletic Director Student-Athlete Support Services position is to support student athletes in balancing their athletic and academic demands. This includes developing learning strategies that promote improvement & serving as an athletics advisor, which includes, but is not limited to, supporting all athletes in reaching their full potential. This position also assists with continuing education of DEI programming on campus and with the NCAA and conference office. Communicating with staff and student-athletes, particularly for assigned teams, the various programming on campus and off for all student athletes.
This position will also assist with various internal operations tasks daily as assigned by the Athletic Director. Must have a commitment to compliance with all NCAA Rules and Regulations. Must provide support and encouragement and ensure the safety and well-being of the student-athletes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Support and act as athletics advocate for all student wellness programming & providing one-on-one support to help students be successful.
Supervision of all Athletics DEI programming. Responsible for tracking team hours for all DEI and wellness programing.
Scheduling, budgeting and overseeing basketball budgets.
Communicating with coaches weekly to keep them informed and involved with their team’s progress of student-athletes. Build solid trusting relationships with all student athletes.
Assists with annual Student-Athlete award nomination for end of year Athletics ceremony. Assist in the Hall of Fame Ceremony organization and planning.
Assist with the coordination of Athletics specific orientation for all new student athletes' arrivals at CCC (fall and spring)
Develop, communicate, and execute game and practice plans for the basketball team and for individual athletes; monitor playing and practice activities and scheduling of contests.
Guide and instruct basketball athletes in health, nutrition, wellness, team concepts and safety.
Respond to and address academic concerns with basketball athletes; monitor academic policies and requirements, academic progress, full time enrollment and graduation rates.
Coordinate tutors for team roster; interface, integrate and coordinate with other academic support and compliance units for basketball athlete academic success.
Recruit prospective student athletes to maintain optimal basketball roster sizes. Enhance basketball athlete retention by establishing mentoring relationships and providing a positive, productive athletic and academic experience.
Other duties as assigned by Athletic leadership.
Required Competencies
Must have effective professional working relationships with student-athletes, staff, administration, alumni, and public.
Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written), and computer skills.
Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize.
Ability to teach and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Must have commitment to NCAA compliance and follow all NCAA, conference, and CCC rules and regulations.
Must have commitment to academic success of student-athletes.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
2 years experience in college coaching.
Must provide support and encouragement and ensure the safety and well-being of the student athletes.
Valid Driver’s License.
Successful completion of criminal history background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an NCAA Division I, II, or III athletics department.
Experience with student-athlete based advising or coaching.
