Apply NowPOSITION SUMMARY:
This is a full-time 10-month staff position in the Athletic Department of Vanguard University. The candidate will assist in athletic training services that meets the health care needs of all student-athletes including the prevention, assessment, care, management, rehabilitation, healthcare administration, education and guidance of the athletic injuries sustained at Vanguard University intercollegiate athletics. This position reports to the Head Athletic Trainer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversee the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
Assist with annual student-athlete preparticipation physical exams
Complete medical coverage of assigned teams.
Assist with medical insurance coordination- write and upkeep accurate medical records and documentation.
Assist with inventory and budgeting.
Assists with home and away event coverage.
Provide for the development of the student athlete’s spiritual growth and athletic health and well-being.
Perform duties necessary for the day-to-day operations in the athletic training room.
Assist with projects directed by Head Athletic Trainer and/or Director of Athletic Training Services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Kinesiology or related field.
NATABOC certification for a minimum 3 years.
Experience in the college/university setting preferred.
Good organizational skills and the ability to work unsupervised.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certified for the professional rescuer.
Knowledge and acceptance of principles and philosophies of Vanguard University.

SALARY:
Full-time, 10-month position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience and includes a generous benefits package.
$47,900 to $58,550 (Annual)
Placement within the salary range is commensurate upon education and experience. Posted salary range reflects anticipated hiring scale for the position. Vanguard University also offers a very competitive and generous benefits package.
