The Assistant Athletic Trainer provides onsite care and management of varsity student-athletes’ injuries and illnesses including prevention, evaluation, management, rehabilitation and event coverage. In addition to communicating with physicians and coaching staff regarding the injury status of varsity student-athletes, the assistant athletic trainer maintains appropriate medical records. The assistant athletic trainers maintain the cleanliness of the athletic training room, supervises interns and student staff and completes other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time, 10-month position.

Completes administrative and other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. Estimated time spent:5%
Educations & Requirements:
Required:
NATABOC (National Athletic Training Association Board of Certification) National Certification; Licensed Athletic Trainer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (or eligible); CPR, AED, and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer Certification.
Additional Information:
Physical/Environmental Demands: Operates in gymnasium, fields and courts and may operate in varied weather conditions. General open office and campus environment. Position involves sitting, movement and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds in training situations. Frequent travel and early morning/evening/weekend/holiday work is required.
As a member of the sports medicine staff, onsite care and management of injuries and illnesses for 375 varsity student-athletes.
