LC State invites applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $47,325
Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
Required Qualifications:
Maintain Board of Certification (BOC)
Maintain or receive a State of Idaho athletic training license
Outstanding skills in management, organization, and motivation.
Demonstrated experience in working directly with coaches and have good listening skills.
Ability to multitask effectively.
Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making;
Must be an effective problem solver and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Must be able to clearly and persuasively articulate the needs of ill and injured student-athletes to athletes, parents, coaches, and other healthcare providers.
Must be comfortable working with individuals at the highest levels at the college as well as community members who attend events.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge of collegiate athletics.
Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles specific to rehabilitation.
Responsibilities:
The Assistant Athletic Trainer assists in the daily operation of the Athletic Training Clinic, including treatments, rehabilitation, availability for daily practices, cleaning, and general upkeep.
The Assistant AT assists the head AT in the annual review, updating, and implementation of policies and procedures as it relates to the NAIA, CCC, and LC State governing athlete health and safety.
The Head AT, along with the Assistant AT's, administers first aid and emergency medical care including lifesaving procedures to student-athletes and those in attendance at LC competitions.
The assistant ATs participate in prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation programs for all student-athletes including modalities, conditioning programs, manual therapies, appropriate exercises, taping/bracing, etc.
Assistant ATs organize and help the Head AT in the execution of student athletes' pre-participation physicals.
Documenting accurate and detailed medical records kept in our EMR (electronic medical records).
Helping coordinate athletic training schedules and personnel to provide medical care for practices and athletic contests.
Facilitate communication between athletes, coaches, parents, other healthcare providers, and administration concerning the assessment of the health and physical status of student-athletes within the boundaries of FERPA and HIPAA.
The Assistant AT directly supervises athletic training students and students completing internship hours.
Assistant AT may also have other duties as assigned by both the Head AT and Director of Athletics.
Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support the recruitment and retention of students.
