Brief Summary of Job Description

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will work closely with the Director of Athletics in the overall leadership of an

NCAA

Division II program. This individual will assist in planning, developing, implementing, communicating and administering the goals of this position in order to help fulfill University and Department objectives. Exhibiting behavior that enhances the respect for student-athletes, the athletics program, the University, and yourself in the conduct of your professional responsibilities will be expected. This individual is required to assist in the direction and control of athletics in accordance with

, and University rules and regulations. Violation of

NCAA

, Conference or University rules on the part of Athletic Department personnel may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

Job Duties

Assist Associate Athletic Director- Sports Medicine with all aspects of the Athletic Training Room Operation; Primary sport responsibilities for football and swimming; Supervise undergraduate/graduate athletic training room students; Summer duties: Training Supervision and oversight, rehabilitation work with injured student athletes, summer camp assistance and coverage (as needed), preparation work for the upcoming academic year

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine. Certified Athletic Trainer. Licensed in the State of Nebraska.

NATA

certification.3- 5 years of experience in physical therapy or athletic training services.

Preferred Qualifications

6 or more years of experience in physical therapy or athletic training services
