Job Description:
Job Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer
Status: Exempt, Full-time, 10-Month Schedule
Overview: Augustana College, an NCAA Division III school located in Rock Island, Illinois, is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant Certified Athletic Trainerfor the 2024-25 academic year. Competing in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), about 1/3 of the Augustana student populationcompetes in one of 28 varsity sports. When it comes to Academic All-Americans, Augustana is #1 in our conference and#13 in all NCAA divisions, a testament to our commitment to academic and athletic excellence. This role willplan, oversee, executeand evaluatea comprehensive offering of athletic training services to meet the diverse needs of the College's student-athletes and coaches. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will workclosely with outside medical professionals, and other interested parties. Sport assignments will likely include men's and women's soccer, and others to be determined at a later date (based upon preference and experience?we are open to discussion).

Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. BOC Certified Athletic Trainer. State of Illinois license or eligible.First Aid/CPR instructor desired (we will help with certification).

Special Requirements: This position requires frequent long work days, evening and weekend work, and limited time offduring assigned sports seasons. Work may be required in extreme weather conditions. As key personnel representing the College, this position requires excellentinterpersonal skills, the ability to relate to a diverse population, and the ability and willingness to model themission and high standard of behavior of Augustana College.
Successful candidates must pass a criminal background check and have a valid drivers' license with theability to be insured by the college.
