Typical Duties
Under the general supervision of the Associate Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will coordinate at a high-level athletic injury prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation for VCU intercollegiate student-athletes. The sport assignment will be Field Hockey and Men's Golf. Employee is required to keep accurate records of all treatments of athletic injuries and organize the training room.
Typical Education and Experience
Minimum hiring standards include:
-Bachelor’s degree;
-Two (2) years’ experience working within collegiate athletics;
-Valid driver’s license and ability to drive University vehicles;
-Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU;
-Able to work independently, as well as part of a team in a multi-tasking environment, with a strong sense of principles and ethics in regard to the welfare of the student-athletes.

-Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, which include nights and weekends;
-Advanced degree or experience, which equates to an advanced degree; and
-Instructor certification in CPR/First Aid.
Typical Licensure
-Current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications and NATABOC certification.
-Employee must be eligible for the Virginia Athletic Trainer License.
