Job Description
Summary/objective
Serve as assistant athletic trainer and assist in managing the administration of all operations and staff of the medical care services to Randolph College student-athletes.

Directly supervise student assistants and interns, if applicable.
Work environment
Serves as a member of the Department of Athletics. Reports to the head athletic trainer. Must work effectively on a regular basis with members of the faculty and staff members in Athletics, Admission, Student Affairs, Alumnae/Alumni Relations, Institutional Advancement, and other College offices.
Physical demands
Working environment includes both indoors and outdoors, exposure to various weather conditions, including temperature extremes. Indoor work environment may not be air conditioned during hot weather. Must have the physical ability to walk, lift up to 50 pounds, run, bend, twist, climb, see, hear, and communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
Travel required
Travel to/from athletics events, NCAA and/or ODAC meetings, and/or professional development workshops required.
Required education and experience
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in athletic training or sport related field. NATA BOC certification, Virginia state licensure, Red Cross Professional Rescuer CPR or American Heart Health Care Professional CPR. Employee must have a commitment to the values, standards, and expectations of NCAA Division III athletics and a liberal arts college.

Must have valid Virginia driver’s license and insurance coverage (if driving own vehicle) or be insurable.

â¢Â   Knowledge of NCAA rules and conference athletic training policies and procedures.Â
â¢Â   Excellent communication skills including effective verbal and written abilities.  Â
â¢Â   Strong organizational and leadership skills. Â
â¢Â   Ability to work effectively with a diverse population (students, staff, faculty, and coaches). Â
â¢Â   Ability to positively influence public relations between the athletic department, the campus, and the community. Â
â¢Â   Computer and database skills required.
