Job Description:
The Assistant Athletic Trainer at Emmanuel College will provide sports medicine services to all varsity athletes. These services include but not limited to injury evaluation, prevention, treatment and therapeutic exercises along with bracing and taping of varsity athletes. The assistant athletic trainer will cover assigned team practices and games which will include team travel as needed. The assistant athletic trainer will be expected to work night and weekends and some overnight trips. In addition to assigned team coverage the assistant athletic trainer may be asked to assist with some practice coverage of other teams outside of team coverage when schedule calls for it. The average work week is 6 days a week.
This is a 10-month per year position.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidates will be a licensed Athletic Trainer in MA or license eligible and have passed the NATA-BOC with current certification. Candidates should be proficient with on-line medical records systems, proficient or able to learn on-line concussion management (SWAY) and be available to work evenings and weekends. A Master's degree in exercise science, kinesiology or a related field is a plus.
Candidates who have previous athletic training experience at the NCAA level or have previous experience working with collision sports such as football, hockey rugby or men's lacrosse are preferred.
