Under lead direction of the Medical Oversight Physician and the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will perform a full range of athletic training functions. The incumbent will assist in the continued development of the athletic training program at CSUSM, especially in the absence of the Head Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing athletic training services for all department camps and clinics, will assist with men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletics teams primarily in the Sports Medicine Room, and provide services to our Spirit Program. These services include attending practices and home competitions, and may include services traveling to away competitions and working nights and weekends.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including, some travel, weekends and evenings as needed is required.
This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
