PRIMARY DUTY: The Assistant Athletic Trainer assists the Head Athletic Trainer in conducting

all activities relating to the athletic training facility affiliated with the athletics department at

Northwest Missouri State University.

1. Manages the total well-being of student athletes including injury care, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation
2. Supervises practices and competitions as appropriate within the athletics program
3. Supervises graduate assistant athletic trainers as appropriate
4. Assists with program administration including pre-participation screening, insurance claims management and other appropriate record keeping
5. Assists the Head Athletic Trainer with other duties as assigned
6. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Athletic Training degree

Certification/License: BOC Certified Athletic Trainer; Licensed Athletic Trainer in the State of Missouri

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work hours will be random and flexible according to the needs of

the athletic program; Nights, weekends, and holidays will be required as necessary. This

position must purchase and maintain a cellular device and service that will be used for work

functions. This position must be responsible for plan choices, calling areas, service features,

terminations clauses, and paying for all charges associated with the cellular device and

service.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervision of athletic training managers and interns

EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Athletic training supplies and equipment

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Manual labor on a daily basis and the ability to lift up to 50

pounds
